Fin Fan Cooler Manufacturer & Supplier in UAE

Viking Emirates Radiators & Cooling Systems has been manufacturing and supplying heat transfer solutions across the UAE for over 33 years. From our Sharjah facility, we design and produce fin fan coolers for oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, and heavy industrial process applications where air-cooled heat rejection is required without dependence on water cooling infrastructure.

What Are Fin Fan Coolers?

Fin fan coolers, also known as air-cooled heat exchangers (ACHEs), are industrial cooling units that use motor-driven fans to force or draw air across a finned tube bundle, removing heat from the process fluid flowing inside the tubes. Unlike shell and tube or plate heat exchangers that require a cooling water supply, fin fan coolers reject heat directly to the ambient air, making them well suited to remote locations, water-scarce environments, and large-scale process facilities where cooling water availability or cost is a constraint. They are widely used across the oil and gas, petrochemical, refinery, and power generation sectors for cooling process streams, compressor discharge gases, lube oils, and other high-temperature fluids.

Our Fin Fan Cooler Capabilities

Custom-engineered fin fan coolers in forced and induced draft configurations for oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, and heavy industrial applications across the UAE and Gulf region.

Forced Draft Units

Fan positioned below the tube bundle, pushing air upward through the core for units where ease of maintenance and lower structural requirements are priorities.

Induced Draft Units

Fan positioned above the bundle, drawing air through from below, offering more uniform airflow distribution and better protection of the fan from hot process air.

Carbon Steel Tube Bundles

Standard carbon steel construction for process fluid and operating pressure combinations within the range of carbon steel material limits.

Stainless Steel & Alloy Bundles

Stainless steel and specialist alloy tube bundle construction for corrosive process fluids, elevated temperatures, or demanding operating conditions.

Custom Header Box Designs

Tailored header box configurations, fan ring and structure arrangements, and drive systems to meet project-specific installation requirements.

Replacement Tube Bundles

Replacement bundles manufactured to match existing header box and structure dimensions, allowing mechanical components to be retained while the heat transfer surface is renewed.

Applications

Our fin fan coolers serve clients across Sharjah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and throughout the UAE, Gulf, and wider Middle East region.

Oil & Gas Production & Processing

Process stream cooling, lube oil cooling, and compressor discharge cooling for upstream and midstream oil and gas facilities.

Petrochemical & Refinery Plants

High-capacity air-cooled heat rejection for refinery and petrochemical process cooling duties.

Gas Compression Stations

Compressor discharge gas cooling for gas compression and transmission installations.

Power Generation & Utility

Cooling for power generation plant auxiliary systems and utility process streams.

Offshore Platforms

Compact and robust fin fan coolers for offshore platform process and utility cooling applications.

Heavy Industrial Process Cooling

Air-cooled heat rejection for heavy industrial process facilities where cooling water supply is limited or unavailable.

Why Viking Emirates

With over 33 years of heat exchanger manufacturing experience in the UAE, our team understands the performance demands that the Gulf climate places on air-cooled equipment. High ambient temperatures reduce the temperature differential available for air-cooled heat rejection, making correct thermal design and adequate surface area critical considerations in the UAE operating environment. Our in-house design and manufacturing capabilities allow us to produce fin fan coolers optimised for local ambient conditions, and we handle both new project supply and replacement bundle orders with reliable turnaround from our Sharjah facility.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between forced draft and induced draft fin fan coolers?

In a forced draft unit, the fan pushes ambient air upward through the tube bundle from below, while in an induced draft unit, the fan sits above the bundle and draws air through from beneath. Induced draft configurations offer more uniform airflow distribution across the bundle and better protection of the fan from hot process air, while forced draft units are generally easier to maintain and have lower structural requirements.

Yes. We manufacture replacement tube bundles to match existing header box and structure dimensions, allowing the mechanical components to be retained while the heat transfer surface is renewed.

Fin fan coolers are used to cool a wide range of process fluids including hydrocarbon gases and liquids, lube oils, compressor discharge streams, amine solutions, glycol, and water-based process fluids. Material selection for tubes and headers is guided by the fluid composition and operating pressure and temperature.

Air-cooled heat exchangers rely on the temperature difference between the process fluid and the ambient air to drive heat rejection. In the UAE where summer ambient temperatures regularly exceed 45 degrees Celsius, this temperature differential is reduced, requiring larger surface areas or higher airflow rates to achieve the same duty compared to cooler climates. Our design process accounts for local ambient conditions to ensure adequate cooling capacity year-round.
